Program Description

Event Details

Joe De Luccia, is a radio operator/gunner who as part of a ten-man crew on a B-17 flew 32 combat missions between June and October 1944. Flying at 30,000 feet and in temperatures of minus 50 degrees, each mission was subject to attack by enemy fighter planes and anti-aircraft flak from the ground. Joe will describe what it was like in aerial combat inside a B-17 Flying Fortress. He will discuss gaining control of the skies over Germany in preparation of the later Allied invasion. Please join us for this very special guest.

Light refreshments will be served.
