Purpose of Meeting

The Ramapough Lenape Munsee art exhibition, Good Relatives, is of mixed media art work ranging from
water color paintings on canvas to charcoal portraits from microfilms. The exhibition is of rematriation of Ramapo
ancestors and the images once captured of them, paired with paintings and drawing depictions of the Ramapo Mountains
and villages prior to the turn of the century, but with bold vibrant colors, and cultural artifacts such as rabbit furs and deer
bones. Good Relatives, also contains collage pieces of NYT Newspaper clippings, and tribal documents, showing the
contrast of time and history. This exhibition has been put together by myself, a Ramapough Deer Clan tribal member, and with the help of various Elders and community support, extending the meaning of mixed media!
