Event Details
'Tis the season to observe clouds of white and pink mountain laurel bushes bursting into bloom. The start of our hike is chock full of these stunning plants gracing the edge of sensational Lake Skannatati in Harriman State Park. A true hike with small elevation changes will take us along a section of the NY Long Path. Our final destination will be an 1865 ore mine. We return along the same route, a total of 3 miles with historical, botanical, and geological insights from your librarian guide.
Arrive early and carpool when you can, as parking here is popular! Please wear sturdy shoes with good traction, sunscreen, bug repellant, and a bag to carry plenty of water! Registration required, as well as a signed liability waiver.
This is an intermediate hike.
