For grades 4 to 6.
Celebrate America's 250th Birthday by learning about the history in our own backyards!
Interpreters from the Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site will visit the library to talk about the lives of the soldiers and their families during the American Revolution. Learn about men’s and women’s uniforms and clothing and what they brought along with them in their knapsacks as they fought for liberty far from home. Hear about what the soldiers ate and what life was like in camp and on the march in the Continental Army led by General George Washington.
Afterwards there will be a short craft where you can design your own flag.
Registration suggested.
